We are moving into our apartment this week. We got the keys Monday but are still house-sitting/dog-sitting through the week. Our apartment is just down the giant hill from the house-sitting gig so we are moving in slowly over the week. These are the front doors to our apartment. It is a one-bedroom in a building from the 1920's (I think) that was originally used as a woolen mill or so we've been told. Our apartment is in the back on the ground floor; in the front of the building is the optomatrist & upstairs are 2 apartments one belonging to the owner who spends most of his time in the country. Love the front doors to our place -- they are huge! And very solid...once closed you can't hear all the street noise. And with double doors it made moving furniture in super easy.

A picture of the doors on the inside. Off to the right is the laudry room which is just big enough for a stacked washer & dryer. The ceilings in this place are huge which makes it feel bigger than it is.

This is my kitchen. The main area of the apartment is a "L" shape. So you walk in the doors, there is a foyer-type area then the kitchen (that's one-half of the "L"). The other part of the "L" is the living room (next picture). So the kitchen: lots of stainless steel & ikea-like cabinets. Now I have a dishwasher drawer - how hip. The colors are kind of funky and bright which we really like. I'll have to get used to the electric stovetop. We are going to put a small four chair dining table in the kitchen since the rest of the apartment has carpet.

This is the main living area looking from the kitchen. We got this microfiber lounge set (their words) on super clearance which means it's about Target priced. The coffee table and desk in back were steals we got at a second-hand shop. The door you see is a fairly large closet. To the right of the picture off where you can't see is our bedroom and bathroom -- more pictures to come.
