August 7th, Dan and I went with our friends Craig and Katie to Queenstown for the weekend. We had planned on skiing on Saturday. It was good getting out of Dunedin.

We were going to go cross-country skiing after dropping our friends off at Cardrona (Snow Farm is just across the valley) but timing didn't work out. We ended up driving to Wanaka instead which was pretty beautiful. Dan doing the typical "tourist at Wanaka" move. Look at all the pretty snow.
This is sunrise from our balcony. Queenstown hotels were pretty booked up by the time we were looking so we got an apartment. We were upgraded to a 3 bedroom very modern, new apartment for the four of us. It was bigger than our apartments back in Dunedin and a lot warmer.

The apartment was on three levels and had a gas fireplace in the living room which was great. I don't think we have been that cozy & warm since moving to New Zealand. It really spoiled us. It'll be hard going back to a regular hotel after this. Or back to our drafty apartment.
