We spent some time in Brisbane on Thursday, Sept 24th. Our friends suggested visiting the South Bank area which has nice gardens and restaurants.
There were many of these birds, the ibis, all over the city parks. The beautiful spring flowers were a welcome sight after such a rainy winter in NZ.
Brisbane isn't actually right on the coast and therefore has no beach until they made a small one around this man-made lagoon on the south bank of the river. It is such a cute area and very popular. At least you don't need to worry about sharks or rip tides. From Brisbane we flew north to Airlie beach and the Whitsunday Islands.
