Friday, April 24th, we got back to Dunedin and the Otago Peninsula just in time for Fernando to meet the locals....our favorite yellow-eyed penguins who live on Victory Beach.

Coming back from a hard day fishing in the Pacific, these guys slowly walk up the beach to their homes and families in the sand dunes.

They are so cute. Coming to this beach to see them just never gets old.

You can see how far we are from them -- they are to the far right top of the picture. You can barely make them out. If you make sudden movements or get too close they run back to the ocean. We saw a huge sea lion on the beach while we were there...waiting for the penguins too?
