Signal Hill

Signal Hill is a prominent land form in the city. It is located close to, and due north of, the head of the Otago Harbor and reaches an elevation of 1289 ft. A secondary summit of the hill is capped by a monument to the New Zealand Centennial of 1940, a large structure including two large bronze figures representing "History" and "The Thread of Life." A large stone from Edinburgh, Scotland is also incorporated in the monument, symbolizing the ties between Dunedin and its sister city.

I'm assuming this is History.

Making this the Thread of Life.

We got some good views of the city and harbor from Signal Hill. The only problem was that the whole area seems a bit run down which is really a shame since it's such a great location.

So that's the city of Dunedin to the right, the start of the peninsula to the left and the Pacific Ocean beyond. The Harbor is the bit of water right around Dan's ankles.
