While walking along the Aramoana mole (or breakwater) we saw this guy trying to get some sleep. We didn't wake him up...the people ahead of us did; they had a tiny, barky dog.
This is at the end of the mole. I think this used to be some sort of signal for ships but must have been destroyed in the recent storms we've had.
The views of the lighthouse and albatross colony were beautiful across the harbor.

There were lots of people fishing around this area either in boats like this one or just from the breakwater. We actually saw some people with a small stove cooking the fish they just caught. It smelled great.
